(1904-1982) Уитни, Джон Хэй
Финансист, дипломат, издатель, филантроп. Выходец из состоятельной семьи, принимал активное участие в делах Республиканской партии [Republican Party]. В 1957-61 - посол США в Великобритании. В 1958-66 издавал газету "Нью-Йорк геральд трибюн" [New York Herald Tribune]. С 1967 был председателем совета директоров газеты "Интернэшнл геральд трибюн" [International Herald Tribune].
